• CIG-R is a research unit sited in the University of Minho. It is devoted to the promotion of geological research and to the integration of geological knowledge in the processes of land management and of natural resources valorization.
  

• CIG-R includes effective and associated members, as well as scholarship students, with different academic backgrounds and varied research interests, mainly in the domains of geological sciences, such as ore and structural geology, hydrogeology, weathering and supergenic minerals, and also in the broad field of the environmental sciences.
  

• CIG-R has a permanent advising council, composed by the following experts:
